Focus 5.3: Custom durations for tasks, active task in the timer view and new notification settings
Focus 5.3 brings new features and improvements to both Mac and iOS. Custom durations on a task-by-task basis are a great way to customize your workflow even further. A new display option to show the current task below the timer will help you remember what you’re working on and the new notification setting on iOS makes sure that everything is set up correctly, so you never miss a notification again.
Show Active Task
Focus 5.3 brings the option to show the active task in the timer view. This is a great way to stay focused to your task at hand and have quick access to it. Simply click on the task name to see the more details and make adjustments to it. Additionally on macOS, you can set the active task to only appear when the task list is hidden.
Focus now lets you set custom durations for work sessions and breaks (short and long) for every task. Simply go to a task and set your preferred session duration in the task details. Once that task becomes active, Focus will use these custom durations for every session you start.
New Notification Settings
Focus 5.3 brings new notification settings to iOS. You’ll get a quick summary of the type of notifications you have enabled, an option to set a custom ringtone and some advice on how to set the notifications appropriate for your workflow. Furthermore, we have linked some information about how to receive notifications on Apple Watch and working with Do Not Disturb (DND). There is also a new option to test your current notification setting right from the settings screen.
Focus 5.3 is a free update. It requires macOS 10.13 or higher, iOS 11 or higher and/or watchOS 4 or higher.
